Pit Bulls Miami:

The MCABSL, Miami Coalition Against Breed Specific Legislation, organization was created to fight against BSL, Breed Specific Legislation, starting with Pit Bulls in Miami Florida. We began our fight in Miami to speak for pit bulls and other breeds of dogs that have been singled out and condemned.

BSL has been targeting pit bulls for several years all across the country. This legislation has given authorities the power to ban and even remove pit bulls from their homes and families simply because of their physical characteristics of their breed. Infact many pit bulls that have been removed from their homes and have been taken to "doggie death rows" regardless if the dog had an incident or even a history of aggression or biting.

Libby Sherrill has recently created and released an eye opening documentary called Beyond the Myth: A Documentary About Pit Bulls and Breed Discrimination. Sherrill's film brings light to the pit bull breed as well as their owners from around the country. This full length documentary uncovers the stereotypes and falsehoods about pit bulls along with families who have lost their innocent dogs due to discrimination.
